The Evidence Table presentation on “National Screening Programme for Prostate Cancer” was chaired by the Deputy Director of MaHTAS, Dr. Syaqirah Akmal, with participation from a multidisciplinary panel of experts in Urology, Pathology, Radiology, Public Health and Health Economics. The session reviewed evidence on the effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness of a risk-stratified national screening programme compared with opportunistic screening in Malaysia, including its potential implications for clinical practice and healthcare resources. The discussion provided valuable expert insights to support a rigorous, evidence-based and contextually relevant health technology assessment.

Accelerating Healthcare Transformation: From Vision to Solutions

MaHTAS officers from the Health Industry Development Unit attended the INTEL & MRANTI Healthcare Transformation event at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, which explored the role of digital transformation and AI in improving healthcare delivery. The session highlighted AI applications in diagnostics, clinical decision-making, patient monitoring and healthcare operations, alongside key considerations on regulation, cybersecurity, SaMD and clinical evidence. The event also showcased innovative AI-enabled healthcare solutions and provided insights into MRANTI’s Health Tech Hub initiatives.

MaHTAS Co-Host GIN Conference 2026

MaHTAS participated in the GIN 2026 Conference held from 15–18 September at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), bringing together healthcare leaders, guideline developers and researchers from around the world. Key highlights included the MaHTAS-hosted Welcome Reception, discussions on AI in guideline development, planetary health and high-value care, and knowledge-sharing on guideline implementation and clinical audit indicators. The conference also provided opportunities for regional collaboration with the Agency for Care Effectiveness (ACE), Singapore, and strengthened connections within the global guideline development community.
