Official launch of the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Management of Dengue in Adults (Fourth Edition)

The 4th Edition of the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) for the Management of Dengue in Adults was officially launched by YBhg. Datuk Dr. Mahathar bin Abd Wahab, Director-General of Health Malaysia, at the Academy of Medicine, Putrajaya. The updated guideline introduces key improvements, including revised intravenous fluid regimens, greater emphasis on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), early rapid testing and standardised clinical audit tools to strengthen dengue management. The launch also highlighted a 100-day challenge for healthcare leaders to implement the recommendations effectively. MaHTAS extends its appreciation to the multidisciplinary CPG Development Group, chaired by YBhg. Datuk Dr. Chow Ting Soo, and all contributors for their commitment to advancing evidence-based dengue care and improving patient outcomes in Malaysia.

KKM Innovation Awards Ceremony (AIKKM 2026)

MaHTAS participated in Anugerah Inovasi KKM 2026 at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by setting up an exhibition booth to promote awareness of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and its role in evaluating healthcare innovations. The exhibition highlighted how HTA assesses the safety, effectiveness and economic impact of new technologies to support evidence-based decisions and responsible adoption. The initiative also provided a platform to engage with healthcare professionals, researchers and innovators, reinforcing MaHTAS’s commitment to sustainable, evidence-informed healthcare innovation in Malaysia.

Technical Advisory Committee for Health Technologies Economic Evaluation (TACHTEE) Meeting 2/2026

The second TACHTEE meeting for 2026 was successfully held, chaired by Prof. Dr. Maznah Dahlui, with committee members attending physically and online. The meeting reviewed two economic evaluations on GLP-1 receptor agonists for diabetes and obesity, and prostate cancer screening, alongside updates on tolvaptan evaluation, HEVBU activities and the proposed national health benefits package for Malaysia. Marking the end of the 2025–2026 appointment term, Prof. Dr. Maznah thanked all committee members for their contributions and commitment. MaHTAS also extends its appreciation to the HEVBU team for coordinating the meeting and supporting evidence-informed, value-based healthcare decision-making.
