About

The Malaysian Health Technology Assessment Section (MaHTAS), under the Medical Development Division, is the Ministry of Health’s custodian of evidence- and value-based medicine.

MaHTAS produces health technology assessment (HTA) reports through systematic, multidisciplinary evaluations of health technologies and interventions. These reports provide vital insights to guide Ministry of Health policies and inform the public.

We also develop and implement clinical practice guidelines based on the best available evidence, helping healthcare providers deliver higher quality patient care.

Through horizon scanning, MaHTAS identifies emerging health technologies and interventions with potential impact, providing early alerts to authorities to support a responsive and efficient healthcare system.
